News on a game development! Fresh Visions team will be blogging straight from the base about this soon to be released game. Development happens from scratch, we will have you blog crawlers giving us feedback as much as you want. Realease date is expected to be 11th of June, so time is short. Stay tuned!

Time has passed and nothing has appeared, why? We had other things to do, and other people to harass! Not really, though really exams have been taking time from the programming team.

Now we stand at a good and bad position. Porting from HTML5 to Androids natural coding library was a success, though audio broke completely, will be solved later.

We have problems getting our pendulum mechanics to work in any significant way. It’s difficult to code! Lets see if we are able to solve it in time.

JS is just too damn fast! Sometimes it responds in ways you just wouldn’t expect, that is why many programmer (specially game programmer) rather use something more robust such C++.

Anyway, the things are coming, not as planned but close enough!

Dude, seriously, go to bed, you really need it! Today is Sunday, and everything is in the air! From the HQ, with love, happy Sunday!

The game goes on fairly well, nothing serious has changed. Lets call it a day folks, who can take work in a Sunday?

Me…?

NOT!

Until tomorrow!

Seriosly! Back to work!

Lets see! We have been trying to tackle the problems with the programming of the game. All the pieces are there, it’s just about building the blocks together, one after the other.

We don’t have interactive test files, so far it has been about applying physics with the canvas elements of Box2D for Java-script.

I work on this pizzeria all the time, Mr. Brown is testing everything that has to do with the string of the demolition ball / crane. And Jalagus and Sem’O’Sem are trying to find themselves in this dark world. Lets see how that goes…

It was a very busy week for Fresh Visions, loads of testing, in and about the game, and ourselves (we are students remember?).

The tiredness is not making anyone unmotivated, we just deal with it like a proper viking would do, a lot of partying!

Anyhow, the game concept is so far the same. We are aiming strait at that simple look you found in the second post!

Some menu pics to show some design decisions, the simplicity is astonishing, but that’s the point! Strip until there’s just enough to make it work.

As you can see there’s a specific scoring system, with the completion of a certain level having categories, such as F (for massive FAILURE loser), or S (as in Super-destroying-man)!

Stay classy, world!

It’s tuesday, so go work some more!

Of course we work around the clock to get things done! This time is dedicated to getting our ears into tune and listen to some optional background music tracks, which will hopefully find your ears as well.

Hoping the menu was pleasant there’s more to say about this whole process of game development… it’s quite challenging, there are so many variables it’s impossible to predict how it will pan out next, and since our commitment is limited to the amount of time we can apply to the project, our schedules have to be very adjustable.

It’s a fact that doing works and projects virtually is possible now, realistically possible, but it still takes its toll, we can’t really collaborate in real time on every point of view of the developers, which is a caveat, the results are only there to be shown and posted. In live projects the feedback is one turn-of-the-back away.

Wake up early on tomorrow, we all know you’re not partying!

This is a preliminary design of the whole UI of the game itself, notice below the handles for crane control (the black nob) and for ball movement release (the red nob), the scoring and menu access! The image background is definately not decided and ready, is all a pretty preliminary work, who knows when I’ll be able to finish it? Maybe I’ll pass it to Sem’O’Sem as his task!

Mr. Brown and Jalagus will be working hard to get the menu, interactive, and audio to the next stage, I’m crossing my fingers it will work just fine! I’ll continue to improve the graphics with an open mind!
